Business Barbados to Boost Investor Confidence, Says Invest Barbados CEO

Bridgetown, Barbados – June 2025

The launch of Business Barbados—the new entity responsible for corporate registrations, intellectual property management, and business facilitation—is expected to significantly strengthen the credibility of Invest Barbados’ message to global investors.

This perspective was shared by Kaye Greenidge, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Barbados, during a recent Business Facilitation & Policy breakfast panel discussion. The event was hosted by BIBA, the Association for Global Business, and moderated by BIBA Executive Director Carmel Haynes. The panel also included Tameisha Rochester, Registrar of Business Barbados; Connie Smith, Chairperson of Business Barbados; and Mark Hill, CEO of Export Barbados.

In response to a question from Haynes on the importance of Business Barbados to investor confidence, Greenidge emphasised that the streamlined operations of the new entity will serve as a cornerstone of what is increasingly recognised as “Brand Barbados”.

“When we go out to the world to attract, register, and support international businesses, we can now do so with confidence,” Greenidge stated. “When attracting, registering, and supporting international businesses, we can say it is now seamless and investor friendly. We can go there [at our various missions] and stand up and be proud to say that Barbados not only has exciting investment opportunities, but doing business here is easy, it is efficient and it is seamless.”

She underscored that Business Barbados’ customer-focused approach and commitment to operational efficiency will enhance the integrity and credibility of Invest Barbados’ various global outreach efforts.

Greenidge also reaffirmed that Barbados’ appeal extends beyond its former image as a low-tax jurisdiction. “Our value proposition is now firmly rooted in being a complete business domicile,” she said. “We offer a robust, service-oriented environment with top-tier talent, all while enjoying the added benefit of being a world-class hospitality destination.” (BIBA)
