Aon is seeking an Account Executive to join its team in Barbados.

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for servicing the financial and insurance needs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies.

About the Role

The Account Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several captive insurance accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing accounting services to a portfolio of captive insurance companies.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management financial statements and management reports.
  • Recording premiums, claims, and reserves.
  • Coordinating financial statement audits.
  • Preparing for and attending Board meetings, including presenting financial results and key information to the Board of Directors.
  • Preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Reviewing and authorizing payments.
  • Analyzing and providing recommendations on complex financial transactions.
  • Participating in ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Developing and maintaining strong internal and external client relationships.
  • Ensuring effective and responsive communication with the Captive team.
  • Complying with regulatory and other standards as directed by Management.
  • Following internal Aon procedures regarding client and counterparty screening for all transactions.
  • Utilizing DocSign and the payments dashboard to manage data flow.
  • Performing other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACA, or ACCA) is required.
  • Previous accounting experience in captive insurance, reinsurance, the international insurance industry, or auditing of such entities would be an advantage.
  • The ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), U.S. GAAP, and Canadian GAAP would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
